Objective: To investigate the effect of trimebutine combined with alprazolam on gastrointestinal hormones and quality of life in the treatment of diarrhea-type IBS patients. Methods: 117 cases of IBS-D were randomly divided into control group (n=58) and treatment group (n=59). The control group was treated with trimebutine, the treatment group was treated with trimebutine combined with sibutramine, 2 groups were consecutively treated for 4 weeks. Detected and compared the levels changes of gastrointestinal hormones and ghrelin before and after treatment in 2 groups o; Statisticsed and analysised the SF-36 quality of life scores of 2 groups before and after treatment. Results: After treatment, the levels of MOT, GAS, SP, 5-HT of 2 groups decreased significantly(P<0.05 or P<0.01), the levels of VIP, SS, CCK, CGRP and SF-36 scores increased significantly (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and the difference between 2 groups was significant (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion: Trimebutine combined with alprazolam can significantly improve the gastrointestinal hormone level of IBS-D patients and the quality of life, be with significant curative effect.
