12 October 2019 saw the grand opening ceremony of the Second Belt and Road Tropical Medical Alliance (BRTMA) Forum in Tropical Medicine. More than 205 representatives of different universities, medical, scientific and public institutions from 14 countries have presented at the forum. Centering on “deeply establish and promote the effective partnership on tropical medicine”, the experts and scholars exchanged and communicated the latest research findings, strengthening the cooperation between the members of the Alliance on the clinical diagnosis, prevention and treatment on Tropical Medicine and promoting the feasibility of conducting important international cooperation and high-level mutual exchanges and visits between experts of all sides.
Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine of Hainan Medical University has undertaken the publication of the Forum proceedings. Hainan Medical University Press currently publishes a portfolio of six high quality academic journals including two journals indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE): Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine (Impact Factor: 1.772), and Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine (Impact Factor: 1.587), and Journal of Hainan Medical University (Chinese and English Editions, Chinese Scientific Core Journal, RCCSE) etc., which enjoy profound academic influence in the medical fields at home and abroad. The supplementary issue has published 44 abstracts brought by the researchers and scholars who work on tropical medicine domestically and internationally, covering the original and innovative research findings in clinical medicine, pharmaceutical botany, tropical diseases and public health, presenting an important international arena for academic communication and exchanges on insights and research findings.
Ms. Jing Li, Deputy Director of the Press, Mr. Bo Cui, Editor in Chief of the Press, and other editors in charge of the Journals have participated at the Forum and discussed the future prospects of the Journals and other currently debated academic issues, fully utilizing the Journals as the communication platform of academic exchanges and medicine studies, and paving the way of “Go Global” for academic studies of Hainan Medical University with positive effort on increasing international reputation.
